Our Logo

The Sakha American Cultural Association emblem contains symbols deeply rooted in the culture of the Sakha people. Each element has a special meaning:

  • The white horse is a symbol of purity, strength, and nobility. In Sakha culture, the horse plays a central role, reflecting the spiritual and life values of the people.
  • The choroon is a traditional container of the Sakha people, used in rituals and everyday life, symbolizing hospitality and respect for traditions.
  • The serge is a traditional support for a yurt of the Sakha people, associated with the cult of the horse. The horses of the hosts and guests were tied to it, also symbolizing the tree of life, the world tree, which reflects the importance of the family hearth and space for family gatherings.
  • The rays of the sun around the circle symbolize life, energy, and renewal, emphasizing the importance of the sun and light in Sakha culture.

Overall, the emblem reflects the deep connection of the Sakha people with their traditions, nature, and spirituality, and their desire to share these values with the world. This symbolism reinforces the association's identity and mission while supporting the Sakha cultural heritage in the United States.
